Events programme
The building has catalysed the creation of new events, meet-ups, and accelerator programmes, not only to support tenants to innovate and share learning, but to act as a physical centre-point for the regional life science economy.
This ‘cluster effect’ is helping to grab the attention of new and growing businesses, supply chains and investors. The Biosphere is becoming a focal point for the sector with meeting spaces, and an events programme open to the wider sector and that support our tenants to connect both in and outside the lab.

The North East is a hub for international, national, and regional communities and the team facilitate connections to support collaboration opportunities and innovation.
The National Institute for Health Research North East and North Cumbria Clinical Research Network
This Network is the best performing local Clinical Research Network in the UK and provides access to clinical trials for NHS patients across all disease areas and care delivery settings. Working in partnership with the NHS, universities, local government, other research funders, patients and the public, the NIHR delivers and enables world-class research that transforms people’s lives, promotes economic growth and advances science.
First for Pharma
A community website created to promote the world-class services of the pharmaceutical companies based in the North East of England, as well as to build and grow the networks between these companies.
AHSN NENC
The Academic Health Science Network for the North East and North Cumbria (AHSN NENC) is dedicated to improving healthcare and supporting wealth creation through partnership working and promotion of innovation across the NHS, Academia, and Industry.
The National Institute for Health Research North East and North Cumbria Clinical Research Network
This Network is the best performing local Clinical Research Network in the UK and provides access to clinical trials for NHS patients across all disease areas and care delivery settings. Bionow is a not for profit membership organisation whose mission is to support the biomedical, life science and pharma sector across the North of England. They bring the sector together, create opportunities to connect and collaborate.
Through our membership we work closely with the team to bring leading events and experts to our building who can share advice and learning with our occupiers. From business pitching events, business breakfasts and regular ‘Biotech and Beer’ social evenings they support us to keep our sector thriving and connected.
One Nucleus
One Nucleus play an active and supportive role in assisting in the success of the life science sector in the UK. They are a not-for-profit Life Sciences & Healthcare membership organisation who enable members to maximise their performance. As part of partnership our tenants have access to their discounted purchasing scheme tenants can get 12 months complimentary membership if they haven’t been a member in the last 24 months. We also work with them to bring high profile events to the region.
