Macmillan Cancer Support holds event at the Biosphere
On April 5th, Macmillan Cancer Support held an event here at the Biosphere – our state of the art life sciences centre in central Newcastle – to launch their new review of health inequality in England: Time to Talk. The event welcomed senior leaders from Newcastle, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland’s health economy to discuss where there is consensus on what more can be done to address inequalities after a cancer diagnosis in the region. Following the publication of the Long-Term Plan for the NHS in England at the start of 2019, attendees also discussed what a more compelling national approach to health inequality, fit for the new decade, could look like.
